Confirm permitted use
Family living, home working, expert accommodation and business use have different requirements. Describe the purpose at the start and reflect it consistently in the lease.
Agree residence-document support
Confirm that the owner or manager can provide documents and cooperate with the relevant process. Names, identification and address must be consistent, including the current administrative address.
Use a bilingual handover record
List furnishings, condition, keys, meters, access cards, internet and photographs. If the lease is bilingual, state which version prevails if interpretations differ.
Check service and safety
Ask about support hours, repairs, visitors, pets, parking, fire safety and escape routes. New arrivals should test the commute at peak time before paying a deposit.
